ProgenCell - Stem Cell Therapies

I thought I’d share my recent experience in Tijuana where I traveled to have stem cell treatment. I tore my labrum (SLAP) 20 years ago and recently frayed the attachment of my bicep in the same shoulder.The increasing pain and limitation of activities had me looking for non-surgical options. I decided on a bone marrow aspiration from my hip that they reinjected locally into the bicep and shoulder as well as via IV.Here’s what the door to door 2.5 hour process to leave my house, get treatment at Progencell therapies inside the NewCity Medical Plaza in TJ was like before returning home:Process was fantastic. Little sore today but overall very easy to do:1. An Uber-like bilingual lady who was very nice and knowledgable about border crossing and these treatments picked me up In a private passenger mercedes.2. We crossed into Mexico where the US has increased inspections big time. The facility is very close to border (probably 3 mins via car) and very nice.3. I had a QR code that I used to scan in and access elevator.4. The office itself smelled like baked vanilla cake and could have been in La Jolla or Del Mar.5. I was reconfirmed on process by a physician and then i changed into a traditional hospital gown.6. They drew blood and checked vitals to make sure I was in good health.7. They started my IV with a vitamin mix. I had a physician monitor vitals, a nurse who aided the doctor and the physician who performed the procedure In the room with me. They were nice and funny keeping me entertained throughout.8. They provided local anesthesia to front of shoulder, back of shoulder and hip where they took the bone marrow.9. They took a ton of bone marrow. It didn’t hurt that much. Some weird sensation but was very manageable when he was puncturing the bone to extract the marrow. Each tube change during extraction provided some weird pressure sensations but It wasn’t painful. Jorge Gaviño, MD was masterful :)10. They reinjected bone marrow directly into my shoulder…a lot. I was shocked how much they took out of my hips and were able to put Into my shoulder.11. They put the balance (equal amount injected locally) intravenously.12. They concluded with a vitamin pain killer mix.13. My total experience inside the building took less than 2 hours.14. Crossing border back was super easy and we opted for the Sentri lane (opposed to medical transport lane which you can use).I was pretty sore the first day because they injected the fluids right into the tears and it sort of re-aggravates them. First 24 hours were pretty achy but after that it just felt like bruising for the next 48-72 hours.

I’ve been looking for a place to get my stem cells therapy for 3yrs. I needed a place that not only would offer the procedure but has a great doctor. Well, I’m happy to say I found it. I thought it would be more painful since I opted to get the bone marrow procedure. It has greater benefits. Fue eficaz. Tranquilo todo el procedimiento. My husband had expanded stem cell therapy for Multiple Sclerosis. The level of care was exceptional and the doctors and nurses are very professional and explain things very well. The facility and accommodations are beautiful and we felt extremely comfortable there. We are hopeful that the therapy has a positive impact on his quality of life, but will need to wait a few months for results.UPDATE*****Cody recently was taken off of MS medication by his neurologist because he is in full remission! Best news ever. His lesions are healing and he has no bleeding in his brain. And his immune system proteins are at normal levels.

I recommend 100% Progencell for the stem cell therapy. On my case it was a treatment for asthma. The process was very smooth, communication very prompt and clear, the clinic was very clean and safe and the entire team very knowledgeable and welcoming.I have done the therapy 3 months ago and I definitely feel an improvement in my everyday breathing!

What an amazing experience. I spent a week with this wonderful team of professionals.I reached out to ProgenCell for my multiple sclerosis. They extracted my bone marrow from my hip, to inject to my spine and also by IV. The extraction is uncomfortable but, nothing you can’t handle.The entire team was outstanding. From our boarder driver, hotel staff, and medical professionals they all made us feel comfortable, safe, and special.I highly recommend ProgenCell for stem cell transplantation. The clinic is ran by a father and daughter team. They are both doctors. After communicating with them for a minute, I knew how intelligent they are and they understand stem-cells I knew that I was in good hands. They answered all my questions and was very thorough. I recommend them. Very professional I plan on going back for more treatment.

It is only few days after I got the first treatment for my knee, I have meniscus tear in 2001 and have surgery to remove some tear in 2008 and it has been going down since then. So I decided to try this treatment.I feel there is a difference, I will definitely do follow up treatments and update here. On Monday, 11/25, I had stem cell injections in both of my knees. It has now been 2 weeks since the procedure and I have already found that I am more mobile and experience less pain and discomfort. At first, I thought it was my imagination or some kind of placebo effect. However, my ability to pull myself onto a very high step that previously required my son to lift me has changed my mind. I had no expectation that changes, subtle or otherwise, would occur so soon. I am extremely pleased. I am also extremely pleased with the professionalism of everyone at ProgenCell and the pioneering work being done at this facility, along with the warmth and care they provide. I cannot recommend this organization highly enough. From the doctors and nurses to the liaison staff, they were all truly awesome! I am an 88-year-old woman and cannot thank everyone at ProgenCell enough for what I have gained in just 2 short weeks and the promise of what is to come.

I went to Progen Cell a couple of months ago for Stem Cell Therapy for Multiple Sclerosis. I'm still in the recovery process, but I have noticed some of my symptoms have gotten better.I do have to say I had VIP treatment as soon as I arrived. My husband & I got picked up in a nice car and was taken to the Quartz Hotel, very nice & luxurious. The hotel let me borrow a wheelchair the whole time I was there, and it made it so easy for me to get around and get to my appointments. The doctors, nurse & Jhovanny was so attentive and answered all my questions. They made me feel so comfortable. Thank you so much Progen Cell team you all are amazing!

I had a wonderful time in Mexico (Tijuana). My family was scared for me, but I told them my trip is a blessing from God. God is the one that referred me to ProgenCell. I was diagnosed with an Immune disease. When I first called I talked to Rodrigo Mendez. He was very nice and informative, he emailed me all the information that I would need including his information. What I really like he knew it was me calling him. My daughter (Lady) came with me and we both enjoyed our stay at ProgenCell they accommodate us very well in everything. In this mist of going to Mexico at the last trip the airport loss my roller walker which played a big part of me getting around myself(independent), but Rodrigo Mendez understood and provided me with transportation (wheelchair) My stem cell treatment (injection) was a great experience. The Dr. Alexandra Damino and the nurse (sorry I can't remember her name), but they both was sooo nice to me. They both stayed with me for the whole time during my treatment. What I really like about the nurse she accommodate me regarding the needle. I told her and the Dr. my pass experience with needles and they both accommodate me. To meet my needs, that's a plus. When it was time for my major procedure I meet Dr. Damino and he is very nice. I told him about my back pain due to falling he assist me in giving me something for my pain before he started my procedure. My overall stay was a plus including my stem cell treatment. From the clinic to all the staff was very nice and they accommodate me in my needs/wants. 👍 👍

Last week was my first visit to ProgenCell clinic in Tijuana, so it is too early to share the results, but I’d like to mention some good experiences on this visit. Everything was very good organized – communication with doctors, airport transfer, hotel booking. The place is just great – clean, comfortable, even the view from the window is superb. Dr. Gaviño and staff are very professional, helpful, friendly, explaining all the actions and answering questions promptly.

Not going to lie- I was nervous about going down South to get stem cells in my knee. I was bone on bone and desperate to avoid a total knee replacement- so I thought I would give this a last shot first. Well, the results are beyond amazing. Let me tell you- if you are on the fence about this- do not hesitate any longer. From my coordination with Kim (who is awesome btw), to my pickup and dropoff to my hotel in San Diego, this entire process was first class. Outstandingly clean operating room. Knowledgable doctors and skilled nurses. Facilities are modern, clean, well lit, and secure and SAFE! Kim was transparent on all charges and billing up front. No hidden costs or upcharges. It's legit.I was picked up at 1015 AM from Mission Beach and back in my hotel room by 1255 PM. There is a fast lane at the border for medical passports and it works great.My results are nothing short of amazing. I am at 5 weeks post treatment and I already have gained another 15 degrees of ROM and my pain has gone from an 8 down to a 2 - tops! It's incredible. It's like having a knee from 15 years ago. I will be going down for a second treatment in six more months. I was really, really bad. Absolute bone on bone- so I will need two. I will get my other knee done as the same time- because why not? It's only a matter of time.I wish I had acted sooner on this. It's nerve-wracking trying to understand the procedure. For my knee procedure I felt absolutely nothing but the first few shots of local anesthesia. The aspiration part was painless and so was the SC injection itself. It's a very quick procedure. The top of my tibia has been sore for a few weeks now from the aspiration- like a bruised shin. But that is about the worst of it. They send you home with pain meds- but you won't need them.You will start to notice results in about one week- and wonder if it's in your head. Around three weeks the real healing kicks in and life gets even better from there. Just go do it.

This place is amazing. The clinic and the hotel were 5 star. They offer compassionate patient care. Kimberly is awesome at communicating and streamlining the treatment process. Initial impressions: ProgenCell - Stem cell therapies was terrific in every way from the price, transparency, coordination of my trip, to the accommodations, wonderful customer service, bedside manner and professionalism. They explained every step, took the time to answer my questions and were just an all round pleasure to be treated by. The facility was top notch, clean, and safe... not at all like what you have been told about medical care outside the U.S. it remains to be seen if the treatment will work for me. Should notice in about 6 to 8 weeks if it does. I will keep you posted... but so far I'm impressed and optimistic. I can already notice minor improvements but the doctors indicated that I would not see any major improvement for up to 2 months. I will update this review once that period of time has gone by.

I highly recommend ProgenCell. They offer a driver to pick you up at the San Deigo Airport. Shout out to Laura my driver she is the best! The staff are friendly, and the full experience was great. There is a hotel on sight to stay at after your injection if needed. Great places to eat. If you plan on flying out the next morning the medical pass lane to cross the border doesn't open until 7am. So please schedule your flight to reflect this.

This is my first time doing treatment for my daughter, naturally I was afraid. The coordinator to the Doctors and nurses were very compassionate and took good care of my daughter. The treatment went smoothly. I would recommend this facility and Doctor to anyone. They are quick to respond and will answer all of your questions. They were very accommodating of my scheduling needs.

It has been one month since getting stem cells in both of my shoulders at ProgenCell and I couldn’t be happier! I started to feel improvement in less than two weeks but wanted to wait a month to give a better review. Kimberly was amazing to work with, her communication and follow up was exactly what I hoped for and is always very friendly. She also coordinated a driver to pick me up from San Diego and back- having the medical pass was essential to getting through customs faster. Dr. Gavino and his staff did an excellent job keeping me informed throughout the procedure and informing me of things to do after the procedure.I’ve had shoulder pain for over 10 years now and one month after getting stem cells my shoulders feel amazing! I definitely recommend ProgenCell stem cell therapy.

Our experience was absolutely wonderful! The doctors and staff were friendly, knowledgeable, and explained everything clearly. They were sensitive and responsive to all our questions and needs. Additionally, the clinic was the most clean establishment we have ever experienced anywhere. It absolutely sparkled. Kimberly was extraordinary in coordinating schedules, keeping us informed of what was needed from us, and timely in all correspondence - she is an absolute rock star! Our driver, Laura, transported us to and from the airport and hotel, is another gem! Not only was she helpful in providing information about the clinic and the area, but she said she was available by phone 24/7 if we had any questions or concerns. This came in handy as we couldn’t reach the clinic after hours with a concern following one of the treatments. Laura was immediately able to reach staff for us. Staff from the clinic called us within 5 minutes to reassure us and answer all questions. Again, we had a great experience with ProgenCell and plan to return for a follow up treatment.

Nice people, but prices change dramatically based on volume of service. We planned on being a returning customers; However, the price of treatment for the same stem cell package changed from $2242.00 to $3200.00 in just a less than a month. No consideration for returning customers.

My family has being going to Progen Cell therapies for years. We have enjoyed some of the best treatment and bedside manner available. Can’t recommend them enough. Both the doctors and the administrative staff are very knowledgeable and ensure that patients take well informed decisions.

We looked at several different facilities and we talked to “several” different clinics, but we chose to use Progencell. This was largely based on wanting to build a relationship with a team of professionals that would take time to get to know my issues and concerns.The entire staff was extremely professional, very knowledgeable, and courteous. Everything was clean and comfortable. Staying close at the Quartz hotel was a nice benefit with made the procedure more relaxing and less stressful.Our first visit we took the trolley down to San Ysidro and crossed the border on foot. There was transportation available and the clinic was very close by; however, We actually walked instead of using the shuttle.On our 2nd trip, (which lasted for 3 day’s) we drove down to Tijuana and stayed at the Quartz hotel which had clean, safe parking and it was extremely nice place to stay. My wife found shopping in the Plaza and Revolution street enjoyable and a good way to occupy the time between treatments.After my treatment on Tuesday, we took a drive down the coast and were never concerned about safety. The ocean views we incredible and provided great memories of a fantastic trip.I expect that I will need more stem cell therapy in the future and I will be going back to the team and Progencell because I trust their service is honest, valid, that the entire staff is comprised of professionals who care about quality and service.James Burnett

Fantastic Experience at ProgenCell, My Parents went in to see if StemCell procedures offered could benefit them with their diagnosis of Parkinson's Disease, My Father also had stem cells injections in His Knee ,and 12 Days after the procedure once the inflammation subsided My Dad couldn't be Happier .. Still only 10 Days post-op ,but Both I ,and My Mom Noticed an improvement in Cognitive function we're aware that it can take up to 6 months or so to see the full results.. so far so good... My mom and I just had some IV therapies done and felt super sick afterwards. I had to have them remove the IV because we felt so nauseous and sick, not to mention the headache I got afterwards.Whatever they put in their IV’s is not healthy or normal. I’ve had many IV bags before and none ever made us feel this sick.Also, the front desk told us it would be $95 for immunity and $10 extra for glutamine.. in the end she ended up charging us $195 each.

I wish to thank the entire team at Progencell. They have provided me with stem cell therapy with successful results for several years. I have benefited from 5 treatments so far and plan to return in six months for my next session. Keep up the great work! 👍🏻 Richard

I was first introduced to ProgenCell when my husband obtained their services for his knees. After seeing the outstanding outcome in his ability to walk and run again, without pain, I was amazed. A few years later, I started to relapse with my auto immune condition, Dermatomyositis, which also triggered a diagnosis of rheumatoid arthritis. The pain was unbearable and the swelling and inflammation was a constant battle. I decided to try the stem cell treatment for my conditions, not with the idea that it would cure them but with the idea that it could help me live a more pain free and functional life and possibly help me wean off the nasty medications that I had been taking for so long. After my first stem cell treatment, I noticed an increase in my energy. Although the pain was still lingering, it started to subside after about a month or so. And now that I have just recently had my second treatment, I am hopeful that I will be able to become even more functional and completely without pain.
